Here’s Urban Dictionary’s definition: the act of sending out flirtatious, but non-committal text messages in order to lure a sexual partner without expending much effort.  Equates to leading someone on.

Sorry but I’ve been using this term for years, not even knowing it was already a “thing”.

And a negative thing at that.

My definition?

Sending out text messages in order to maintain contact and connection with someone you like.

I’ve been coaching men to use this technique so I think I can take some creative license here.

Breadcrumbing (my version) is an effective way of developing a relationship with a woman, particularly early on.

It conveys a few things:

• Your interest
• Your ability to maintain a connection
• Thoughtfulness
• Curiosity about her
• That you can take the lead

Don’t you think a woman would want to feel these things from you?

When you want to keep the positive energy going in a new relationship, try breadcrumbing.

It will establish a tone that women will respond to.
